Leica has introduced a new portable projector aimed at consumers seeking premium cinematic experiences without the complexity of traditional home theater setups. The newly announced Cine Compact 1 combines advanced imaging technology, smart streaming capabilities, and flexible installation options in a compact form factor.
Built with a durable aluminum chassis inspired by minimalist industrial design, the projector features a sleek glass front panel that blends functionality with a refined appearance. Despite its relatively small footprint, the device is capable of projecting images up to 220 inches while delivering brightness levels of up to 1,700 lumens.
At the core of the Cine Compact 1 is an advanced optical system that incorporates Leica’s renowned lens expertise. The projector utilizes a specially engineered zoom lens with aspherical elements, paired with a 0.47-inch DMD imaging chip and Triple RGB laser technology designed to enhance efficiency and visual performance.
To further improve picture quality, Leica has integrated its proprietary image optimization technology alongside Dolby Vision support. The result is detailed 4K imagery with strong contrast, accurate color reproduction, and sharp clarity across a variety of viewing environments.
Ease of use is a major focus of the device. A built-in 360-degree rotation mechanism allows users to project onto walls, ceilings, or outdoor surfaces with minimal effort. Automated features such as autofocus, keystone correction, zoom adjustment, and intelligent screen alignment simplify setup and help ensure an optimal viewing experience.
The projector also functions as a comprehensive entertainment hub. Running on the VIDAA smart platform, it provides direct access to major streaming services while supporting wireless connectivity through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Apple AirPlay. Additional connection options include HDMI and USB ports for external devices.
Leica has set the retail price of the Cine Compact 1 at £1,450 (approximately $1,850 USD). The projector is scheduled to become available on June 18 across select markets, including Europe, North America, Asia, Australia, and the United Kingdom, with availability in Japan expected shortly afterward.
With its combination of premium optics, smart functionality, and versatile installation features, the Cine Compact 1 represents Leica’s latest effort to bring high-end cinema experiences into a more compact and accessible package.
