It is highly driven and high-performing founders across sectors worldwide, especially the female brigade who put in every possible effort in making a positive change in the lives of others through their incredible and meaningful work. We couldn’t help but notice how Samantha Brior has emerged as one such incredible founder of Safe Sam’s, a one-of-a-kind brand providing support and recovery for eating disorder healing.
Building a safe space for people dealing with eating disorder has always been at the very core of Safe Sam’s, the brainchild of Samantha Brior, who says, “I get what you’re going through because I’ve been there.” Sixteen years ago, Samantha Brior found herself navigating the isolating and overwhelming journey of eating disorder recovery. The inspiration for her brand Safe Sam’s was born, when she saw her best friend struggling with an eating disorder and wanted to help. What began as a mission to support her best friend since then has evolved into a product line that thrives on providing real assistance to many others in eating disorder recovery.
Safe Sam’s today has grown as a one-of-a-kind brand that has been consistently changing the narrative and providing essential support and recovery to individuals battling eating disorders. It has grown into a mission from Samantha Brior’s personal experience and professional expertise in the field of eating disorder recovery. She originally started with snack bars made for those in eating disorder recovery for helping her best friend and many others. It gradually pivoted to a rhyming recipe eBook. Samantha Brior decided to dive deeper into the field, gain more knowledge and expertise and hone her skills further to gain greater insights from a providers’ standpoint, which led her to create two more eBooks.
During the entire process of growing Safe Sam’s, she realized how recovery doesn’t stop when someone leaves a treatment center; in fact, newer challenges arise post that. She emphasized how everyday expenses like medical bills and groceries weigh heavily on those in recovery, adding stress to an already challenging process. She felt the need to address these issues, thriving on her background in both personal recovery and professional experience in mental health. Thus, Safe Sam’s today is also renowned for giving back. A portion of every sale from Safe Sam’s goes directly toward helping people with these essential costs, rising as a conscious brand that believes in making a positive difference in people’s lives.
From being a snack bars brand to turning into a full-support brand, Safe Sam’s has come a long way, under the leadership of Samantha Brior. Her initial idea was to create a line of snack bars for those in recovery from eating disorders, allowing them to eat these “safe” foods without anxiety or fear. However, she later delved into production and encountered high costs and logistical hurdles that forced her to rethink her approach. Pivoting quickly, she transformed Safe Sam’s into a brand offering much more, a rhyming recipe eBook and later an entire series of resources to help others in recovery.
Even after facing several challenges, including one where 70% of the brand’s inventory was lost in transit, Samantha Brior’s commitment, passion and a powerful purpose kept her moving ahead on her path. Today, Safe Sam’s has grown into a community and a resource for people in recovery. Beyond product sales, she actively remains involved with the eating disorder community and connects with her audience on a personal level. With Samantha’s appearances on “This is My Brave” and several other recovery blogs and podcasts, she has further spread her light and knowledge in the field.
Samantha Brior soon will appear in Season 17 of The Blox on Prime Video. In the near future, she envisions expanding the product line and creating partnerships with the mental health and eating disorder recovery communities, eventually to make Safe Sam’s a known name in the eating disorder comm
