Ken Block, the rally driver and founder of Hoonigan, died suddenly in a snowmobile accident in February 2021. His death has been felt around the world among fans of motorsport and his innovative approach to driving. Let’s take a look back at his life, career, and accomplishments.

Ken Block was born in Long Beach, California in 1967. He became interested in cars at an early age after watching his father race stock cars at the local tracks. After graduating from high school, he worked as a carpenter before eventually starting his own sportswear business called DC Shoes. It was during this time that he began to pursue his dream of becoming a professional racing driver.

In 2009, Ken Block made history by becoming the first American to win the World Rally Championship (WRC). He also had success with other forms of motorsport such as rallycross and Gymkhana. Outside of racing, he was well-known for founding Hoonigan Industries which sold apparel and merchandise related to motorsport culture.

Ken Block was also a passionate environmentalist who had dedicated much of his life to advocating for clean energy sources such as solar power and electric vehicles. In 2017, he co-founded EVX Ventures which invested in companies focused on sustainability solutions related to energy storage and transportation infrastructure.

The untimely death of Ken Block has shocked many people around the world who admired him for his passion for motorsport, innovation, and dedication to creating a more sustainable future for generations to come. While we mourn the loss of this great icon, we can take comfort in knowing that he leaves behind an incredible legacy that will continue to inspire us for years to come. Rest in peace Ken Block!
