Bukayo Saka, the renowned forward for Arsenal Football Club and the England national team, has joined forces with Nando’s to introduce a special limited-edition PERi-PERi sauce.
Known for his exceptional skills on the field, Saka’s collaboration with Nando’s marks a significant milestone in his off-pitch ventures. The partnership between Saka and Nando’s dates back to his memorable appearance in the Nando’s This Must Be The Place TV advert last year, where he captured attention with his signature side-eye.
In crafting his unique sauce, Saka worked closely with Nando’s food team to infuse his favorite flavors of smoky BBQ and tomato with the renowned PERi-PERi spice. The resulting sauce is a delightful blend of sweetness and fiery heat, boasting notes of tomato, garlic, and smoked paprika. Rated at Medium on the PERi-ometer scale, the sauce is sure to appeal to Nando’s enthusiasts seeking a flavorful kick.
Expressing his excitement about the sauce launch, Saka remarked, “I love it and can’t wait for everyone to try it. I’ve been going to Nando’s since I was little, so to have my own PERi-PERi sauce in every restaurant in the country is quite mad! My family’s really important to me so I wanted to make sure they liked it, too. As soon as my Dad said he was a fan, I knew it was the one.”
To celebrate the sauce release, Saka teamed up with a group of chefs, including an Arsenal chef, to showcase the sauce’s creation in a fun and energetic kitchen setting. The collaborative effort is highlighted in a new film titled “Yes Chef,” offering viewers an entertaining glimpse into the sauce-making process.
Adding another layer of creativity to the collaboration, London-based artist and lifelong Arsenal supporter, Reuben Dangoor, was enlisted to design the official sauce bottle. This marks the first time Nando’s has collaborated with an artist for its restaurant sauce bottles, adding an artistic touch to the limited-edition offering.
