This week, Elon Musk unveiled two exciting self-driving concepts from Tesla, with the autonomous Robotaxi taking center stage alongside the newly revealed Robovan. While a production date for the Robovan has yet to be announced, its potential is generating buzz.

Described as a fully autonomous transporter, the Robovan promises to seat up to 20 people and can be tailored for both commercial and personal use. Musk assured an audience of invite-only spectators, “We’re going to make this, and it’s going to look like that,” emphasizing the commitment to the vehicle’s unique design.

With its toaster-shaped body and art-deco aesthetics, the Robovan resembles a blend of a bus and a train. Like the Robotaxi, it will forgo traditional controls, operating entirely on autonomous technology to maximize passenger comfort.

Inside, the Robovan features multiple rows of seats arranged to face one another, wall-mounted displays at both ends, and a sliding door on one side. Glass panels line the roof, enhancing the spacious feel. Musk noted that the Robovan is customizable, allowing for various configurations to meet different needs.

While Tesla has not officially confirmed a production timeline, the Robovan is anticipated to debut by 2027. Its future, along with that of the Robotaxi, will rely on an unsupervised version of Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) software. Check out the Robovan concept above!
