Following a publishing error in a Dutch version of Omid Scobie’s tell-all book, King Charles and Kate Middleton have been named as the senior British royals accused of making comments about the skin color of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son, Archie. In response, Buckingham Palace has stated that it is “exploring all options,” including potential legal proceedings.
A palace spokesperson disclosed to the BBC on Friday that they are addressing the situation in the wake of the revelations. The book identified King Charles and Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, as the senior royals who allegedly had “conversations” with Prince Harry about his and Markle’s then-unborn baby.
The alleged discussions about the baby’s skin color were initially brought to public attention during the high-profile interview the royal couple conducted with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.
