The Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball team has made it to the Final Four of the NCAA tournament for the first time in almost three decades. The team’s impressive run has been led by sophomore Caitlin Clark, who made history by recording a triple-double in the team’s win over Kentucky.

Clark’s remarkable performance included 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 14 assists, making her the first player in NCAA tournament history to record a triple-double in the Sweet 16 round. Her leadership on the court has been a driving force behind the team’s success, and she has been praised by Iowa’s head coach, Lisa Bluder, for her exceptional play.

The Hawkeyes’ victory over Kentucky was their seventh consecutive win in the NCAA tournament, and they will now face the South Carolina Gamecocks in the national semifinals. This marks only the second time in school history that Iowa has made it to the Final Four, with the previous appearance dating back to 1993.

Despite COVID-19 restrictions limiting fan attendance, the Hawkeyes were able to pull out a hard-fought win over Kentucky. The Wildcats tied the score in the fourth quarter, but Iowa was able to pull away in the final minutes to secure the victory.

As the team prepares for their upcoming semifinal game, all eyes will be on Clark and her ability to lead her team to victory once again. The championship game will be held on April 5th, following the Final Four games on April 1st and 3rd. Clark’s outstanding performance in the tournament has solidified her status as one of the best players in the country. She is a finalist for the Naismith Trophy, which is awarded to the top women’s college basketball player, and her impressive showing in the tournament has only strengthened her case for the award.

The Hawkeyes’ journey to the Final Four has been nothing short of remarkable, and fans will undoubtedly be eagerly anticipating their next game. With Clark leading the way, Iowa has proven to be a formidable opponent, and they will look to continue their impressive run in the tournament.
