The unsettling moment began when an audience member called out Drew’s name, causing her to pause and acknowledge the person. As Drew tried to resume her chat with Reneé, a man rushed the stage and appeared to disclose his full name to her.
“You know who I am,” he stated, prompting Reneé to stand up and safely escort Drew away. Security intervened to prevent the man from getting any closer, saying, “I need to see you at some point while you’re in New York.”
Drew, the 92Y, and the New York Police Department have not yet commented on the incident. Although Drew has not publicly addressed the situation, eyewitnesses confirmed that she and Reneé returned to the stage to finish their conversation.
