Selena Gomez is proving she’s in her “lover-girl” era as the awards season heats up, and this time, she’s channeling vintage-inspired style. After stunning in a sharp white tuxedo, the singer and actor showcased her feminine side at Variety’s 10 Directors to Watch & Creative Impact Awards. For the event, Gomez wore a charming baby-pink tweed minidress from Oscar de la Renta’s pre-fall 2025 collection, featuring a modest neckline and long sleeves that radiated a ’60s-inspired retro vibe. The dress perfectly captured the sunny essence of Palm Springs, California, where the pre-Golden Globes festivities were held.
What truly elevated the look were playful pockets, embroidered with delicate cherry blossom motifs, adding a fresh and whimsical touch. She paired the dress with pastel pink heels featuring a subtle pink buckle, keeping her accessories equally soft and sweet. Gomez added a bit of sparkle with two diamond rings on her right hand, and of course, her engagement ring—featuring a marquise diamond—on the left.
For her hair and makeup, the newly engaged star fully embraced the retro aesthetic with a chic bob styled in soft waves, parted down the middle. She complemented her vintage-inspired look with a smoky gray eyeshadow, coral blush, and a satin pink lipstick, rounding out the perfect throwback glamour.
At the event, Emilia Pérez director Audiard was honored with the Creative Impact in Directing Award, and Gomez shared her admiration for the director. In a recent interview with W, Gomez revealed that her attraction to the film’s script was driven by “pure curiosity.” She praised Audiard, stating, “I love working with incredible filmmakers—that’s usually what I’m drawn to the most,” she said. “When I read the script, I thought it was extremely thought-provoking, visceral, and groundbreaking. But some films may not turn out that way. I really felt that [director] Audiard is just so spectacular that the movie was in really good hands.”
