The passionate artist excitedly shares about the album, which was born from creativity, determination, and a passion for creating genuine music and serving music lovers something they can add to their favorite music lists.
It is surreal to learn about all those individuals who believe in the power of giving back to the community with their work. Even more astonishing is how most of these individuals start very early in their careers, realizing their dreams and relentlessly working toward fulfilling them by putting in every possible effort, leaving no stone unturned. With a strong self-belief, genuine passion, and immense love for what they choose to do in their work, a few professionals across industries of the world have emerged as sources of inspiration, especially for the younger generation. Take, for example, Sean Martin, who has emerged as a rising name in the music world.
In recent times, Sean Martin has been making headlines for his artistry, dedication, and passion for authentic music that has led him thus far in the ever evolving music industry. He also has an album titled “Bedroom Inc.,” which he says is more than just a collection of songs he performed, recorded, mixed, and mastered. What has helped Bedroom Inc. garner much attention is how it has spanned over eight years of production and travel across the US. “Bedroom Inc. captures the essence of what it means to create music that is a journey in itself, resonates deeply with listeners and music lovers, and is free from the pitfalls and constraints of modern-day production shortcuts,” says the music artist.
He recalls how everything began in CA, in 2016 for Bedroom Inc. with modest equipment: a Blue Yeti mic, a Mbox input, and a laptop. The album initially had a raw and intimate sound, while walking on unconventional songwriting paths: taking well known songs and making them feel like your own. He made rigorous efforts to stay disciplined in constantly learning, and produce a moving and authentic musical performance captured in its purest form, by recording, mixing, and mastering it all himself.
Sean Martin’s visions expanded over the years, and he assembled a mobile recording unit that allowed him to record anywhere. So he did, in four different states: California, Florida, Colorado, and Pennsylvania, over a span of six years. His years of varied experiences in creating music and its evolution are evident in the progressively complex production found on the album, which transitions from simple guitar and vocal tracks to full-band arrangements featuring bass, drums, violin sections, and multiple guitars across different locations and times.
Another factor that Sean Martin believes keeps Bedroom Inc. distinctive is how it has become more than just an artistic endeavor; it is a rising above the challenges he has faced in the music world. Negative experiences with a sub-major label caused major setbacks, and a deceptive independent manager who acted as a roadblock in releasing his previous album, Antiquate Hate. With all of that, he was even more determined to take full control of the production process. He decided to eradicate the external factors that could compromise the integrity of his art or its ability to reach audiences. This is how he could create something as amazing as Bedroom Inc., making it a personal and unfiltered expression of his musical artistry and identity.
Travel, too, played a pivotal role in helping him create Bedroom Inc. He drove across the US six times from Los Angeles to Florida, Washington to Boston, and Minnesota to Texas, performing at open mics and refining the craft along the way. These experiences helped him perfect his songs and strengthened his belief in the appeal of his music. One of the more unconventional yet endearing ways Sean Martin used to gauge his music’s quality involved animals. Staying in various homes on the road, he would play songs for the resident pets, including stray animals he encountered at hotels.
Sean Martin highlights how Bedroom Inc. Deluxe Edition draws inspiration from various musical influences: from Frank Sinatra and Sam Cooke, to Nirvana and Alice In Chains, and even modern pop, including a cover of Justin Bieber. The latest album also showcases his ability to seamlessly blend genres and musical eras and create four outstanding music masterpieces from “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked,” “Fly Away,” “Turn the Page,” and “You Know You’re Right,” featuring contributions from drummer Dennis Morehouse and guitarist/violinist Zack Rapp.
Bedroom Inc. is exclusively available on BandCamp and is already gaining massive attention for its originality, creativity in music, and pure artistry.
