Nicole Kidman made a stunning statement at the premiere of Netflix’s animated film Spellbound, proving that the sheer trend can be both elegant and enchanting.
At the event held in New York City, Kidman graced the red carpet in a breathtaking Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda gown that captured all the magic of the evening. The dress, crafted from tulle illusion fabric, featured intricate floral embroidery and a lavish mix of brocade, lace, and macramé appliqué, extending from the gown’s long sleeves all the way to the floor. The delicate details of the gown—paired with a floor-sweeping hemline—created an ethereal, almost fairy-tale-like effect, perfectly complementing the premiere’s fantasy theme.
For accessories, Kidman kept things simple and refined, choosing just a few bejeweled cocktail rings and a classic pair of black pointed-toe pumps. Her beauty look was equally understated yet glamorous, with glowing bronze eyeshadow and her signature strawberry blonde hair styled in voluminous mermaid waves.
In Spellbound, Kidman voices Queen Ellsmere alongside co-stars Rachel Zegler and Javier Bardem. The animated musical follows the story of Ellian, a princess trying to reverse a spell that has transformed her parents into monsters. Kidman, who also sings in the movie, shared her excitement about the role: “I was so honored when they asked me to sing in the movie,” she said in a red-carpet interview. “Rachel has the most divine voice. I was just like, ‘Oh no.’ She was so nurturing and kind and encouraging as we went along.”
Kidman also praised composer Alan Menken, stating, “With Alan being the composer, I was like, ‘I’m in. Just get me there, please.'” Reflecting on her reunion with co-star Javier Bardem, she added, “Javier and I obviously have a history together, so it was so nice to be able to re-team. It’s just fun to be doing so many different things.”
