To mark the opening of its first overseas salon in Shanghai, Kurono Tokyo is releasing a special edition timepiece that celebrates the brand’s dedication to precision and minimalist design. The Chronograph P1 Shanghai Special Edition is a one-time-only, small-batch release, offering a sleek, date-less chronograph that embodies the brand’s purist ethos.
This new reference, Kurono Tokyo’s first chronograph without a date complication, showcases a clean and striking dial design. The color palette of medium carmine, white, and black is thoughtfully chosen to reflect the signage of the new Shanghai salon, lending a sense of place to the timepiece. The 12 and 6 indices feature the same elegant typeface as those seen on Kurono Tokyo’s Calendrier models, while the remaining hour markers are stud-like appliques, maintaining the signature style found in previous chronograph releases.
The 38mm case size ensures the Chronograph P1 wears elegantly on a variety of wrist sizes, complemented by a classic black leather strap for a timeless look. Powered by an in-house modified NE86PWT movement, the watch offers a 45-hour power reserve and is equipped with a vertical clutch and column wheel, ensuring smooth and precise chronograph operation.
Retailing at $3,590 USD, the Chronograph P1 Shanghai Special Edition will be available for order starting November 25 at 11 p.m. JST / 9 a.m. ET through Kurono Tokyo’s website. For those lucky enough to secure an order, deliveries will begin in mid-December 2024. With its clean design and limited availability, this special edition chronograph is sure to be a coveted piece for watch enthusiasts and collectors alike.
