Katie Holmes turned heads at Michael Kors’ exclusive event marking the start of New York Fashion Week, where the city’s stylish elite gathered for a night of music, fashion, and celebration. The intimate gathering, held at the Carlyle Hotel’s renowned Bemelmans Bar, featured a star-studded guest list including Nicole Scherzinger, Sutton Foster, and Willa Fitzgerald. The evening was filled with glamour, including an electrifying performance by Alan Cumming, who delivered soulful renditions of Liza Minnelli’s Cabaret classics, “Mein Herr” and “Maybe This Time.”
Holmes, known for her understated yet chic style, embodied the quintessential NYC uniform in her all-black ensemble. She arrived at the event draped in a sophisticated black coat, with only her sheer tights and sleek pointy slingback heels visible. Once inside, she removed the coat to reveal a strapless little black dress with a delicate folded detail at the bust. The dress highlighted her effortless elegance, paired with large gold earrings adorned with white pearls at each end.

Her look was completed with a relaxed, messy ponytail and soft, face-framing waves, as well as a subtle dark eye makeup and a glossy berry lip. Though Holmes often graces red carpets, she admits to maintaining a laid-back approach to fashion. “We live in a world where premieres happen and you want to look nice, and it turns into being a fashion person, but I’m like, ‘I just want to look good, I’m not really a fashion person,’” she explained.
Off-duty, Holmes gravitates toward the classics. “I love my vintage T-shirts. They’re so yummy, a little dirty, a little stained—and that’s me,” she shared, showing that her style remains grounded and genuine, no matter the occasion.
