Chanel ushered in resort season with cinematic flair, unveiling its Cruise 2025 collection at the historic Villa d’Este on the shores of Lake Como—a luxurious setting steeped in Old World charm and Hollywood history.
The legendary villa, once frequented by icons like Elizabeth Taylor and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, set the perfect stage for Chanel’s latest showcase. Surrounded by 25 acres of lush Renaissance gardens, the show channeled the romance of Italian travel and silver screen glamour.

This year’s Cruise collection was crafted by Chanel’s Creation Studio, ahead of Matthieu Blazy’s official debut as creative director, slated for October. The lineup celebrated a mood of la dolce vita, featuring radiant sequined tweeds, metallic backless jumpsuits in shimmering pinks, and ethereal lace dresses adorned with floral embroidery. Accessorized with opera gloves and jewel-like minaudières, the pieces were made for moonlit parties and Mediterranean escapes.

The fashion wasn’t the only star of the event. The front row glittered with Chanel muses and global celebrities, including Sofia Coppola, Lupita Nyong’o, Sarah Catherine Snook, Keira Knightley, and Margaret Qualley. Café-style seating along a covered patio and a soundtrack featuring Dean Martin’s “Sway” added to the dreamlike atmosphere.
Adding to the occasion, Sofia Coppola directed a short film celebrating the collection, with model Ida Heiner in the lead. A teaser was revealed ahead of its full release, offering a glimpse into the elegance and escapism of Chanel’s lakeside fantasy.
From its glamorous setting to its joyful designs, Chanel’s Lake Como show was a breathtaking reminder of fashion’s power to transport.
