Biokidé is a rising cosmetics brand whose products are made from the oil or pulp of baobab fruits, making for a clean cosmetic brand.
Wonderful are those success stories that have been made from the ground up, especially those of women who have worked impeccably throughout their journeys and have made heads turn around them and the brands or businesses they have created. These wonderful women make all of this look effortless and inspire so many other women vying to make their mark in their respective industries. It is also essential to hold more talk around them for the world to know their brilliance in all that they ever take in their hands. The business world today is ruled by many such self-made women personalities, among which one name that has been attracting the most attention in recent times is Fatimata Kane
Fatimata Kane is not your average success story that people hear about every passing day; she is beyond that, and that she proves by the kind of work she does, not just in business but also in philanthropy. Currently, she is basking in all the glory for her newest brand named Biokidé, which is growing as a sustainable luxury cosmetics company that she created promoting Made in France and Senegalese fair trade through baobab oil. They are members of Positive Luxury, and Biokidé is in the process of getting certified by Positive Luxury with the Butterfly Mark. This is awarded to luxury businesses that are committed to creating a positive impact on society and the planet. Speaking more on the same, she proudly quotes, “The Butterfly Mark is an independent certification for luxury brands, meeting the highest standards of verified innovation and environmental and social performance.”
Interestingly, Fatimata Kane initially followed a course to be a nurse after obtaining her baccalaureate but chose to get into management. At 30 years, she created her first company in the cleaning of construction sites, for which she also received a price in 2014. In 2015, she discovered the benefits of baobab fruit and decided to promote it through her new company Biokidé, where “Kidé” means “baobab” in Malian. She takes inspiration from her son, her parents and her art too.
Fatimata Kane has remained a thriving entrepreneur and founder of multiple brands, which have remained tethered to her Senegalese roots. One among them was KAPWAN, the much-talked-about industrial cleaning company. Talking about Biokidé, she says that the raw material of her product line is made from the oil or pulp of baobab fruits, which she discovered while exploring her traveling endeavors. She wanted to benefit women through naturally-extracted cosmetics, offering them clean cosmetics and hence developed the company. The raw material comes from Africa, and the French know-how in the cosmetic sector has added more glory to the company.
They are going to also open a showroom at the Champs-Elysées in France in January to let people know the beauty of the company that combines luxury and sustainability. Besides being an entrepreneur, Fatimata Kane is a philanthropist who recently collaborated with ‘Baobab des Saveurs plant’, a fair-trade brand committed to training farmers in Senegal. Now, she is determined to expand Biokidé worldwide and benefit every woman out there.
