L’Oréal Professional Products has officially unveiled the L’Oréal Academy in New York City, a state-of-the-art education center dedicated to advancing the skills of professional hairstylists and colorists. The grand opening drew brand ambassadors, licensed hair professionals, and notable guests from across the country, marking a major investment in the future of the salon industry.
The celebration began with a ceremonial hair-cutting moment, followed by cocktails and an immersive presentation that blended live model hairstyling with choreography, spoken word, fashion, and music. The dynamic showcase reflected the academy’s mission: treating hair artistry as both a technical craft and a creative discipline, while fostering community and inspiration among professionals.
Modeled after L’Oréal’s West Coast academy in El Segundo, California, the New York location serves as a comprehensive training ground across the company’s professional portfolio, including Redken, Matrix, Mizani, Kérastase, and Pureology, among others. Courses focus not only on cutting and color technique, but also on business education—equipping stylists to thrive creatively and commercially.

According to Leslie Marino, president of L’Oréal US Professional Products, the academy’s foundation lies in education that is both inclusive and expert-led. A key priority is mastery of textured hair and all curl patterns, which Marino emphasizes is essential, not optional. With access to unreleased product innovations and an on-site testing center, the L’Oréal Academy positions stylists at the forefront of industry evolution—reinforcing the brand’s broader mission to elevate professional beauty for all.
