AlphaTheta has officially launched the DDJ-FLX2, marking its first entry-level DJ controller under its own brand name since acquiring Pioneer DJ. This new offering arrives four years after the acquisition, fulfilling the brand’s commitment to expand its product lineup for aspiring DJs.
The DDJ-FLX2 is designed specifically for beginners, serving as an accessible and versatile option in the DJ controller market. It builds on the foundation laid by the Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX4 released in 2022. Users will find compatibility with a variety of devices, including smartphones, tablets, and computers, as well as access to music streaming services like Apple Music through the Algoriddim djay app. Additionally, it supports popular DJ software like rekordbox and Serato DJ Lite.
This controller is packed with innovative features to enhance the user experience. Notably, the Smart CFX allows DJs to apply complex effects with a simple turn of a knob, while the Smart Fader automates the mixing process, optimizing track speed and sound levels. According to the press release, “All you have to do is slide the crossfader in one direction,” making it easier to mix tracks across various genres, even those with differing tempos.
In terms of connectivity, the DDJ-FLX2 includes a 3.5mm stereo mini jack port for headphones, another for speakers, and a USB-C port for music source connections. It also supports Bluetooth, adding to its versatility and appeal.
The AlphaTheta DDJ-FLX2 is now available from AlphaTheta stockists worldwide, retailing at £159 GBP / €189 EUR / $179 USD, making it a fantastic choice for new DJs looking to start their journey.
