CMF by Nothing has unveiled its latest lineup of devices, marking a significant expansion since its initial debut last fall. Headlining the release is the CMF Phone 1, the brand’s inaugural smartphone, alongside updated versions of its earbuds and smartwatch, now named CMF Buds Pro 2 and CMF Watch Pro 2 respectively.
As a subsidiary of London-based tech innovator Nothing, CMF by Nothing positions itself as a more affordable alternative while maintaining a distinctive design philosophy. Following the success of Nothing’s transparent phones and Glyph lighting systems, which garnered Red Dot Design Awards, CMF Phone 1 introduces a new direction with user-swappable back covers reminiscent of early 2000s mobile phones.
Under the hood, the CMF Phone 1 is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 5G chipset, a collaborative effort tailored for this launch. It boasts a robust 5,000 mAh battery and up to 16GB RAM through the brand’s ‘RAM Booster’ technology. The phone features a vibrant 6.67” Super AMOLED display with a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and a 50-megapixel Sony-developed rear camera optimized for portrait photography. Operating on Nothing OS 2.6, a customized version of Android, CMF Phone 1 aims to deliver a seamless user experience.
Accompanying the smartphone are the CMF Watch Pro 2 and CMF Buds Pro 2, both enhancing upon their predecessors. The CMF Watch Pro 2 offers interchangeable bezels for customization, a 1.32” AMOLED always-on display with extensive watch face options, and advanced health tracking features including heart rate and blood oxygen saturation monitoring. The watch supports over 120 sports modes and boasts a battery life of up to 11 days.
Meanwhile, the CMF Buds Pro 2 retain their signature high-definition microphones with Clear Voice Technology 2.0 and Wind-Noise Reduction 2.0. These earbuds feature dual drivers for superior audio quality and offer up to 43 hours of battery life with their charging case, which features a customizable ‘Smart Dial’ for convenient control.
All three products are available for pre-order globally starting today, with regular sales commencing on July 12. The CMF Phone 1 starts at $199 USD / £209 GBP / €239 EUR, with accessories like swappable back covers available from $25 USD / £19 GBP / €25 EUR. The CMF Watch Pro 2 is priced at $69 USD / £69 GBP / €69 EUR, while the CMF Buds Pro 2 are offered at $59 USD / £59 GBP / €59 EUR.
