Ford has unveiled an exciting limited edition Mustang 60th Anniversary Package, promising to blend classic style with modern performance. This special edition pays homage to the original 1965 Mustang, with only 1,965 units available – a nod to the model’s debut year.
Available on the 2025 Mustang GT Premium model, both coupe and convertible options will be offered. The anniversary edition incorporates design elements inspired by the first-generation Mustang, including distinctive fender badges, rocker panel stripes, and a unique wheel design reminiscent of the 1960s.
Matt Simpson, General Manager of Ford Enthusiast Vehicles, expressed, “Mustang’s design DNA has never been stronger or more enduring. We’ve woven historical cues into the modern fabric of the Mustang to celebrate its iconic status across generations.”
Key features of the Mustang 60th Anniversary package include exclusive badges reminiscent of the 1965 Mustang cloisonné badges, unique 20-inch wheels in Dark Gravity Gray with bright machined details, and optional side graphics in Iconic Silver or Vermillion Red. The package also introduces a new grille design, incorporating silver-accented nostrils that serve as functional air intakes, enhancing the vehicle’s performance aesthetic.
The interior of the anniversary model offers luxurious options like Space Gray, Carmine Red, or Black Onyx colors – complete with an exclusive serialized badge adorning the instrument panel, emphasizing the car’s collectible status. Additionally, Ford has released a software update that enables Mustang owners to give their vehicle a vintage look with a ’60s-inspired digital gauge cluster.
Ford has tailored the car’s exterior colors to include classic shades such as Wimbledon White, Race Red, and a new Vapor Blue, allowing enthusiasts to choose a color scheme that best fits their style.
Stefan Taylor, Senior Designer at Ford, highlighted the meticulous attention to detail in merging nostalgia with modernity. “During the design process, we closely examined the 1965 Mustang’s finely detailed elements,” he explained. “Our aim was to capture the essence of the ‘65 model while enhancing the Mustang’s established reputation as a contemporary sports car.”
The roll-out of the 60th Anniversary Package is expected to begin in the fourth quarter, with orders opening as early as this summer. Pricing details will be announced closer to the release date.
