When it comes to issues of representation, everyone has a different perspective, one that is shaped by their own experiences. Consequently, it’s possible that elements like education, geography, family dynamics, and cultural background play a role. Dr. Ehsan Sadri, a laser eye surgeon and co-founder of Visionary Ventures, has done a great job of representing Iranian Americans in the medical community.
As the first member of his family to complete medical school in the United States, Dr. Sadri represents a new generation of Iranian Americans in the medical field. He is eager to learn new things because he is always thinking of ways to enhance his patients’ sight and experience. His Newport Beach, California-based, board-approved laser eye surgery practice has been open since 2004.
Dr. Sadri and his team are committed to advancing ophthalmology, addressing unmet patient needs, and closing service gaps, and they use startup funding to do just that. Dr. Sadri has given over 300 officially reviewed lectures over his career. On top of all that, he started a group that helps people all around the world who are blind in ways that no one else does. The original goal was to aid visually impaired patients, but it has already expanded to help many more people.
Many in the medical community consider Dr. Ehsan Sadri an authority in his field. He has extensive training and experience, making him an invaluable resource for teaching other eye surgeons how to protect and restore patients’ sight. He speaks at ophthalmology conferences often, where he talks about new approaches to eye care, as well as ways to diagnose and treat eye problems.
He is confident enough in his own abilities to take a risky approach to expand his company. Through maintaining a “lunchbox attitude,” he has been able to remain unassuming and committed to the difficult task he adores. Dr. Sadri uses an expression from Earl Nightingale to define success: “it is the progressive realization of a desirable ideal.” If we use Dr. Ehsan’s criteria for success, we can confidently describe him as successful.
Creating Visionary Ventures just after the pandemic took a lot of work and came with challenges for Dr. Sadri and his colleagues. One of the challenges includes financially getting their business off the ground. Their current level of accomplishment is a direct result of their tenacity and resolve. Dr. Sadri claims that he faces no competition in his field. His assessment is that you represent your most significant competition. Kaizen, an inspiring Japanese concept, has inspired him to strive for improvement on a daily basis. This concept can be translated as “the constant pursuit of perfection.”
Dr. Sadri advocates for programs encouraging individuals to take responsibility for their own development and well-being. Perseverance and enthusiasm are, in his opinion, the keys to both happiness and success. His life’s outlook is “glass half full.” Although Dr. Sadri’s work with Visionary Ventures has been quite fruitful, he is also involved in other projects that aim to improve eye health. One of his objectives is to significantly increase the scope of his services related to preventing and treating eye diseases and injuries. Examples include sunglasses, eyelid lotion, and blue-light-blocking eyewear.
