Apple discontinued its final iPod model, the iPod Touch, over two years ago, marking the end of an era that began with the iconic first-generation iPod in 2001. The iPod lineup evolved significantly over the years, from the compact iPod Mini to the screenless iPod Shuffle.
Before completely phasing out the iPod, Apple introduced its last model featuring a classic “scroll wheel” in 2014, which was later replaced by touchscreen technology. Now, there’s a new accessory for Apple Watch enthusiasts nostalgic for the retro music player.
Named the tinyPod, this silicone case transforms the Apple Watch into a vintage iPod. Designed to fit snugly around the Apple Watch after removing its wristband, the tinyPod features a scroll wheel reminiscent of the original iPod’s navigation wheel. This wheel corresponds to the Apple Watch’s digital crown, allowing users to navigate the watch interface by rotating the scroll wheel. However, it doesn’t include a button, so users still rely on the Watch’s touchscreen for making selections.
Priced at $80 USD, the tinyPod also offers a Lite version for $30 USD, which lacks the scroll wheel and is simply a plain white silicone case. Available now online, the tinyPod is compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 and later models, offered in various sizes including Ultra 1 and 2.
