After nearly four decades since its debut in 1986, TAG Heuer is reintroducing its Formula 1 watches in collaboration with KITH, blending classic design elements with contemporary materials. This exclusive collection comprises 10 limited edition timepieces, each offering a unique blend of heritage and modern aesthetics.
For Ronnie Fieg, Founder of KITH, the Formula 1 watch holds a special place in his heart. In a recent interview with Hodinkee, Fieg reminisced about receiving a stainless steel F1 watch from his mother on his 12th birthday, which ignited his passion for watch collecting. Drawing inspiration from his personal connection to the timepiece, as well as from vintage F1 watches from the late ’80s and early ’90s, Fieg collaborated with TAG Heuer to create a collection that pays homage to the iconic design and vibrant colors of the original models.
The collection features a range of stainless steel and Arnite/rubber models, each limited edition and boasting distinctive design elements. Leading the lineup is the TAG Heuer Formula 1 KITH ref: WA121F.BA0023, featuring an eggshell dial, red and black accents, and a stainless steel case and bracelet. This model, limited to 1,350 pieces, is a nod to Fieg’s first watch and features collaborative branding and design details, including engraved scripts and logos.
Other highlights include stainless steel models inspired by the Paris and Los Angeles stores, as well as Arnite/rubber models representing cities like Miami, New York, Tokyo, Toronto, and Hawaii. Exclusive TAG Heuer models in black PVD steel add a sophisticated touch to the collection.
While maintaining the classic design of the original Formula 1 watches, the new collection incorporates modern upgrades such as sapphire crystals, rubber straps, and Super-LumiNova treatment for enhanced visibility. Each watch is equipped with quartz movements, water resistance up to 200 meters, and a 35mm diameter case.
Priced at $1,500 USD, the watches will be available for purchase through select KITH and TAG Heuer retailers, as well as online via a drawing system. Additionally, a limited edition collector’s box set, priced at $18,000 USD, will be offered through a special draw. The global release is scheduled for May 6, with an early release in Miami on May 3 to coincide with the F1 Grand Prix. Each purchase includes a custom book chronicling the brand’s history and the TAG Heuer Formula 1 KITH collection.
