Samsung is taking the concept of the modern kitchen to the next level with its groundbreaking AI-powered smart refrigerators. By integrating Samsung’s Vision AI technology with Instacart’s product-matching system, the tech giant is making grocery management more seamless and efficient than ever before.

The latest Samsung Bespoke smart refrigerators, including the 32-inch Family Hub Plus and the newly introduced 9-inch AI Home display models, are equipped with advanced AI cameras. These cameras are strategically placed above the fridge door and inside the unit to track the addition and removal of items, creating a virtual inventory of the fridge’s contents. Currently, the system can identify up to 37 commonly used items, such as fruits and vegetables, while allowing users to manually expand the inventory via the Samsung Food app.

By harnessing this real-time data, the AI system can automatically detect when supplies are running low and recommend restocks through Instacart’s product-matching API. Users can then conveniently add these items directly to their Instacart cart using the fridge’s touchscreen interface, making the process of ordering groceries faster and easier.

This innovative feature not only saves valuable time but also ensures that essential items are always stocked, streamlining the day-to-day challenges of managing a kitchen. Samsung plans to roll out the Instacart integration later this year through a firmware update for its AI Vision Inside-equipped refrigerators. The feature will be available on the 2025 Bespoke models and select existing units in the Family Hub lineup, marking a major leap in the evolution of the smart kitchen.
