Samsung has officially launched its highly anticipated Galaxy S25 series worldwide, making it available both in retail stores and online through the company’s website. Following a busy January, the tech giant unveiled its new flagship smartphones during its Unpacked event in San Jose, California.
The new Galaxy S25 lineup includes the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 models, all touted as being at the forefront of AI technology. Samsung describes the devices as a “fundamental shift in how you interact with the world,” underscoring the importance of AI in their functionality. AI has been a major focus for Samsung in 2025, and the Galaxy S25 series builds on the success of last year’s Galaxy models, many of which utilized the brand’s Galaxy AI technology.
At the core of these smartphones is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy, a customized version of Qualcomm’s most powerful chipset. This collaboration, built on Samsung’s long-standing relationship with the chipmaker, optimizes performance for Galaxy devices, offering improved AI capabilities and enhanced on-device processing power. The Snapdragon chipset is particularly influential in photography and videography, with its neural processing unit (NPU) driving the ProVisual Engine for superior image and video quality.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra stands out with a massive 6.9-inch QHD+ display and a 120Hz refresh rate. It features five cameras in total, including a 50MP ultra-wide, a 200MP wide, dual telephoto lenses with 5x and 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP front camera. With up to 1TB of memory and 12GB of RAM, it’s a powerhouse for both performance and storage.
Both the Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 feature four rear cameras, including a 10MP ultra-wide, 50MP wide, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. They also share a 12MP front camera. The S25+ sports a 6.7-inch QHD+ display, while the standard Galaxy S25 has a 6.2-inch FHD+ screen. Both phones come with 12GB of RAM, with the S25 offering storage configurations of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB, while the S25+ maxes out at 512GB.
One of the most exciting additions to the Galaxy S25 series is the introduction of multimodal AI agents. These agents can process multiple types of data, enhancing the overall user experience by providing more contextually aware and intuitive interactions. Samsung is positioning the S25 series not just as smartphones, but as “AI companions,” aiming for a more integrated and intelligent mobile experience.
The Galaxy S25 series ships with Android 15 pre-installed and Samsung promises seven generations of OS upgrades along with seven years of security updates, ensuring that these devices remain relevant for years to come.
Pre-orders for the new devices are available now, with wider availability expected by February 7. Pricing varies across models, with the Galaxy S25 Ultra starting at £1,249 GBP / $1,299 USD, the Galaxy S25+ at £999 GBP / $999 USD, and the Galaxy S25 at £799 GBP / $799 USD.
For color options, the Galaxy S25 Ultra offers “Titanium Silverblue,” “Titanium Black,” “Titanium Whitesilver,” and “Titanium Grey,” while the S25 and S25+ come in “Silver Shadow,” “Navy,” “Icy Blue,” and “Mint.”
Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series is set to continue the brand’s dominance in the Android market, thanks to its powerful AI-driven features, advanced camera setups, and strong performance specs.
