In the wake of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, Paris Hilton is turning her grief into action, helping those affected by the crisis while dealing with the loss of her own Malibu home.
Through her nonprofit, 11:11 Media Impact, the media mogul has raised an impressive $800,000 in emergency relief funds within just 72 hours. A portion of this—$150,000—has been directed to GoFundMe’s Wildfire Relief Fund, aimed at providing immediate cash assistance to 150 families in Altadena, a community heavily impacted by the fires. Hilton explained her decision, saying, “After meeting with people impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires, I heard heartbreaking stories of loss but also inspiring resilience. My goal is to help as many as I can as quickly as possible.”
The funds will help those in need begin to rebuild their lives, providing critical support to families who have lost everything. Hilton’s team at 11:11 Media Impact has been working tirelessly to ensure that assistance reaches those who need it most.
Since wildfires broke out in the L.A. area on January 7, the fires have rapidly spread, destroying over 30,000 acres, including more than 10,000 homes and businesses. Over 100,000 residents have been forced to evacuate, and the devastation has claimed at least 24 lives. Celebrities, including Hilton, have shared their personal losses, with the reality star revealing that her own Malibu home was destroyed in the blaze. On social media, Hilton posted an emotional message about watching her home burn, writing, “Heartbroken beyond words. Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience.”
Despite the overwhelming loss, Hilton expressed gratitude that her family and pets were safe, adding, “My heart and prayers are going out to every family affected by these fires. To all the people who have lost their homes, their memories, and their beloved pets… My heart aches for those still in harm’s way or mourning greater losses.”
In addition to raising funds through her charity, Hilton has also been personally volunteering at Baby2Baby, a children’s charity, where she helped pack essentials for families in need. She has also worked with the Pasadena Humane Society, where she fostered Zuzu, a pup rescued from the Altadena fire.
Hilton’s dedication to giving back during such a difficult time showcases her commitment to supporting her community, even as she faces her own personal heartbreak.
