Montell Fish has revealed that his upcoming album, ‘Charlotte’, is set to debut on Friday, August 23rd.
This 13-track record, co-produced alongside Jacob Portrait, showcases collaborations with notable artists such as Daniel Caesar, Clams Casino, and Alex G. According to an official description, the album delves deeply into themes of memory, attachment, loss, and personal growth, exploring the psychological underpinnings of these universal human experiences.
‘Charlotte’ marks the second installment in Fish’s trilogy, following the 2022 release of ‘Jamie’. Drawing from his own life experiences over the past two years, the album integrates Fish’s studies in psychology, memory, and childhood, with lyrics touching on themes of love, power, failure, and success.
The album follows Fish’s recent EP, ‘Intercession Before Charlotte’, released under his dj gummy bear alias in March. In an interview with Hypebeast, Fish described the EP as a precursor to ‘Charlotte’, signaling his ongoing work on the album. Now, with the project complete, Fish is preparing to share it with the world.
Ahead of the album’s release next month, Fish engaged in a conversation with Omar Apollo to discuss ‘Charlotte’ and reflect on their respective career paths and future aspirations. The full interview can be viewed below.
Stay tuned for Montell Fish’s highly anticipated album, ‘Charlotte’, promising to deliver introspective and resonant music to his listeners.
