With her passion for the arts and bold creativity, Carla Palette pushed boundaries with her incredible artistic work.
It is astonishing to notice the rise of a few professionals who forge ahead in their respective sectors in ways more than one and push boundaries to inspire other up-and-coming talents. Even more spellbinding is that most of these professionals belong to the female brigade, who today have reached the forefront of almost all sectors worldwide. The world of design has noticed the consistent rise of several highly driven founders, CEOs, artists, art directors, and other professionals, among which one name that has made a significant impact is Carla Palette.
There is a reason Carla Palette, a Berlin-based brand designer and art director, was listed among the “Top 20 Inspirational Women To Look Out For In 2024.” She has raised the bar as a brand identity designer and art director, and she is currently working in Berlin with an affliction for color and “controversy,” she says. Among several factors that have helped Carla make her mark in the world of design, her ability to create influential and provocative brand experiences has helped her stand distinctive from the rest. Today, as an independent freelance designer and art director, she works predominantly with food, beverage, alcohol, music, cosmetic and other lifestyle brands worldwide.
Speaking on her journey, Carla Palette recalls how she began from the ground up working for car advertising companies at 18, creating car advertising graphics that look like something that was created with Microsoft Word Art. After finding a mentor, she redirected her attention to the world of branding. Over the years, she has worked with agencies she always wished to work with, such as Snask, &Walsh, Uncommon, Mother Design, Koto Design, and more.
Besides being on top of media outlets this year, she created a branding course with You Creative Media and spoke at OFFF Fest Vienna. Carla looks forward to now being a panel judge of the TDK Awards in early 2025. Her work has also been published across online publications such as Brand Identity, Dieline, Creative Boom, Mindsparkle Magazine, Bounty Hunters, and many others.
Carla Palette initially got entangled in the corporate culture and realized it wasn’t for her. However, realizing her passion for design, she runs her own show today the way she wants, creating a unique path of success for her. She loves shaking up categories where the competition is barely putting up a fight. One of the major factors that has helped her stand apart is her strategic business sense and designing stuff that aligns perfectly with the needs and demands of each of her clients. Carla envisions elevating underdeveloped product categories by challenging stale norms, inspiring bolder creativity, and raising the industry standard. Through pioneering work like redefining the landscapes for BUNA whiskey and REGGIE bakery, she has proven that even predictable markets can evolve when one dares to break patterns and set the bar higher.
With strategic thinking, unique design concepts, and a finely-tuned creative process, Carla Palette finds passion in delivering visually striking and thought-provoking results. Her work has consistently set new benchmarks and inspired the generation, be it boutique packaging, bold visual identity systems, or provocative advertising. She is determined to push brands to be bold, brave, and authentic and elevate product categories that lack innovation. Her vision is rooted in collaboration. With her extensive creative network, she curates specialized teams tailored to each project’s demands.
Carla Palette has risen beyond being a designer to become a creative visionary determined to redefine how brands connect with audiences.
