Jameson has unveiled its inaugural music initiative, Distilled Sounds, in collaboration with Anderson .Paak, a renowned artist and producer from California. This global program marks a significant commitment by the Irish whiskey brand to the creative community, aiming to foster collaboration among over 20 musicians worldwide.
The initiative’s launch included the premiere of a comedic short film directed by Glenn Kitson. In the film, Anderson .Paak appears as both himself and his alter ego DJ Pee .Wee, transforming the iconic 64 Sound Studio into a Jameson radio station. Speaking on his involvement, Anderson .Paak expressed, “Some of my best tracks have come from collaboration, and with Distilled Sounds, we’re building a family of musicians.”
Drawing a parallel to sharing a glass of whiskey with friends, Distilled Sounds seeks to serve as a platform for musicians to exchange ideas and blend unique styles. Emphasizing the cultural exchange aspect, the program aims to encourage experimentation across different genres, leveraging the diverse musical landscapes represented by the participating artists.
The inaugural session of this global collaboration will kick off next month in Cork, Jameson’s hometown. Anderson .Paak will lead this session at the Sound Distillery, guiding and supporting musicians as they embark on creating new music together. Reflecting on this upcoming gathering, Anderson .Paak noted, “[It] will bring artists from around the world into one room to harness the magic of connection. Face-to-face interaction is essential for the energy and creativity required in songwriting.”
For more insights into the program, Anderson .Paak invites audiences to watch the short film, which captures the spirit and ambitions of Distilled Sounds.
