- How do transitions happen in your art style? Are they linked to advanced skills?
Yes and No. my transitions not only reflect my skill level with Blender (3d program I use), but they also reflect the current trending artistic styles found on Instagram. When I explore, I see what catches my eye, and I aim to replicate a similar style or find new ways to “catch somebody’s eye” while they’re scrolling through their feed! I also have a slight obsession with the way light bends around the glass. That’s been my most recent “phase,” hence the name “KennyPhases.”
- You predominantly use holographic textures in your work. Why?
This holographic style/texture you refer to is called “dispersion” and sometimes called “refraction.” It’s how light interacts with objects, in such a specific angle and intensity that the true colors of light beams are split apart and revealed. I love this effect because it’s naturally occurring in our everyday lives, and if you focus hard enough, you’ll find it in the clearest/transparent objects you see or use every day!! Next time you pour a glass of water or even buy a water bottle at the store, look closer. Rotate the glass or the bottle, notice anything? That’s light being bent and revealing the spectrum that hides in small crevices of the mirror and rounded corners of the bottle. It’s always there; you have to take a second to appreciate it 🙂
- How do you feel about the future?
Extremely Optimistic. I’ve been extremely fortunate as an artist. My Instagram page was originally started as a joke. Many of my family members and close friends know that I go through many artistic/creative phases in my life, and so I created KennyPhases! Little did I know that it would later turn into so so SO much more. I have worked with many amazing clients, supported myself, and earned passive income with my skillset. NFT’s have also helped in this process, as they’ve provided not only ME but also all artists with an opportunity that we didn’t even know we needed. My future will involve making more art, building more relationships, and expanding my knowledge to continue expressing myself creatively!
