A 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss, the last of its kind produced, is set to hit the auction block at Bonhams Cars. This rare gem, number 75 of 75, pays tribute to racing icon Sir Stirling Moss and the legendary Mercedes 300 SLR from the 1950s.
Equipped with a formidable 5.4L supercharged V8 engine, this speedster boasts an impressive 650 hp, allowing it to reach a top speed of 220 mph and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. Its distinctive design features a unique roofless body, crafted by Yoon Il-Un, who now serves as Vice President of Design at Genesis. Without a roof, windshield, or side windows, the SLR Stirling Moss is tailored for true driving enthusiasts.
This particular model shines with a special red paint finish, gold-painted brake calipers, and a luxurious red leather “Silver Arrow” interior adorned with yellow stitching. It has had only one owner—a VIP client of both Mercedes-Benz and Aston Martin—and has logged just 50 kilometers on the odometer.
Recently recommissioned by Stratton Motor Company, the vehicle comes with its original documentation, including a duplicate Swiss registration and a Mercedes-Benz Certificate of Conformity. Its appearance at auction offers collectors a rare chance to own the ultimate expression of the SLR McLaren, merging high performance, exclusivity, and rich motorsport heritage into one extraordinary package.
This exceptional Stirling Moss example will be available for bidding on October 6 as part of Bonhams Cars’ The Zoute Sale, with an estimated value of up to $2,765,650 USD.
