BABYLON, created by Trash Talk members Lee Spielman and Garrett Stevenson, has teamed up with Tokyo’s NEIGHBORHOOD for an electrifying capsule collection. This collaboration blends BABYLON’s West Coast edge with NEIGHBORHOOD’s Japanese craftsmanship, resulting in a vibrant fusion of cultural influences.
Central to this partnership is the artwork of Ric Clayton, a Venice-based artist renowned for his iconic designs for punk bands such as Suicidal Tendencies and Excel. Clayton’s distinctive ’80s style, featuring skulls and waves, takes center stage throughout the collection.
The capsule collection features a diverse array of apparel, including custom button-ups, long sleeves, and tees. Key pieces include Hawaiian skull button-ups with all-over prints that capture the raw aesthetic of the punk era. The collection is modeled by Eaddy and Jean from the music group Ho99o9, against the backdrop of Southern California’s coastline, captured by Venice-born photographer Dan Regan.
To celebrate the launch, BABYLON and NEIGHBORHOOD hosted a Ric Clayton art show at HVW8 Gallery in Los Angeles on July 12th. The exhibition introduces four new works by Clayton alongside his original pieces, running until August 11th. The event’s opening night featured a lively backyard performance by Trash Talk, extending onto Melrose Avenue.
This limited-edition NEIGHBORHOOD x BABYLON series is now available for purchase on the brands’ official websites and select retailers.
