Following the discontinuation of its rumored electric car project, known as “Project Titan,” in February, Apple is reportedly redirecting its efforts toward the development of robots.
According to reports by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is now exploring the creation of personal robots designed for home use. The company is said to be working on two types of bots: one that can follow individuals around their living space, and another desktop-style bot capable of moving display screens.
Sources familiar with the project have revealed that these robots are being developed within Apple’s home devices group. With the reallocation of engineers from the disbanded Project Titan, Apple is leveraging its existing talent pool to advance its robotics endeavors.
Bloomberg also mentions that certain technology developed as part of Project Titan, including algorithms, is being repurposed for use in the robots.
However, Apple is reportedly cautious about the pricing of these bots and is evaluating how much consumers would be willing to pay for such innovative home technology.
