The collaborative force of adidas and Yohji Yamamoto’s Y-3 Atelier returns with its highly anticipated second collection, expanding upon its foundation of craft-focused designs with a monochromatic, code-blending GORE-TEX® range.
Described as a crystallized embodiment of Y-3’s vision, the latest Y-3 Atelier apparel and footwear lineup reimagines Yamamoto’s iconic runway pieces using fully-seamed, waterproof GORE-TEX® materials. This sophomore collection showcases a selection of meticulously tailored garments that seamlessly merge performance wear with avant-garde aesthetics. From sleek all-black vests and coats to parkas, blousons, jackets, and blazers, each silhouette features extended seams, flap pockets, and reflective logos for a striking yet functional design.
Presented in a captivating campaign lensed by Thue Nørgaard, the latest Y-3 Atelier looks prioritize dynamism, exuding larger-than-life movement, angular structures, and occasional three-striped detailing.
The collaboration between adidas and Yamamoto birthed the elevated in-line division in March of the previous year, commemorating two decades of fruitful partnership. The inaugural installment of the sub-label introduced an array of Monozukuri creations, including asymmetrical maxi dresses and essential trench coats, paying homage to adidas’ distinctive design ethos while showcasing Yamamoto’s intricate production process.
Y-3 Atelier’s second collection is set to launch on March 15, available at select Yohji Yamamoto and Yohji Yamamoto POUR HOMME stores, as well as online. Explore the range further in the accompanying gallery.
