The 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards lit up New York City with a night dedicated to innovation, creativity, and timeless style. Hosted by Teyana Taylor at the Museum of Natural History, the event brought together legendary designers, rising stars, and global icons under one glamorous roof. It was an evening where American fashion proved once again why it continues to lead the world in both artistry and influence.
Ralph Lauren was honored as the American Womenswear Designer of the Year, reaffirming his place as a pillar of elegance and classic sophistication. Thom Browne won the Menswear Designer of the Year for his bold and architectural designs that continue to challenge traditional tailoring. The Olsen twins, Ashley and Mary-Kate, received the Accessory Designer of the Year award for The Row, a label that defines modern minimalism and quiet luxury. Emerging designer Ashlynn Park of Ashlyn took home the Google Shopping American Emerging Designer of the Year award, marking her rise as one of fashion’s most promising creative voices.
The evening also recognized icons who have shaped the industry beyond design. A$AP Rocky was awarded the Fashion Icon Award, celebrating his fearless ability to merge streetwear with luxury and art. Donatella Versace received the Positive Change Award for her commitment to diversity, empowerment, and sustainability in fashion. Pieter Mulier, creative director of Alaïa, was named International Designer of the Year for his mastery of sculptural silhouettes and refined craftsmanship. Cynthia Rowley was honored with the Founder’s Award in memory of Eleanor Lambert, while Ralph Rucci received the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award for his lifelong dedication to American design.
