Derrick White, currently playing for the Boston Celtics, has been selected to join the 2024 USA Basketball Men’s National Team for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris. This announcement comes from USA Basketball, with Derrick White’s inclusion being confirmed by managing director Grant Hill.
The decision follows the withdrawal of Kawhi Leonard, previously named to the team in April. USA Basketball and the L.A. Clippers jointly determined that Leonard would best prepare for the upcoming NBA season instead of participating in the Olympics.
Grant Hill expressed his enthusiasm for Derrick White’s addition to the team, highlighting his recent NBA Championship win with the Boston Celtics and looking forward to his contributions in Paris.
In addition to Derrick White, the 2024 USA Men’s National Team includes NBA stars such as Bam Adebayo, Devin Booker, Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Anthony Edwards, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Haliburton, Jrue Holiday, LeBron James, and Jayson Tatum. This star-studded lineup brings a wealth of talent and experience to the global stage.
