Beyoncé has teased a possible collaboration with Travis Scott on her highly-anticipated forthcoming album, Cowboy Carter.
A brief snippet of the joint track was featured in a sponsored Instagram Story promoting pre-orders for the album. The eight-second clip showcases synths and ad-libs from Travis Scott, sparking excitement among fans. While neither Beyoncé nor Scott has officially confirmed the collaboration, anticipation for the album’s release next week continues to build.
Cowboy Carter is the second installment in Beyoncé’s RENAISSANCE trilogy. Despite speculation that it may be a country album, fueled by previous singles like “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” and “16 CARRIAGES,” Beyoncé clarified that it is unequivocally a Beyoncé album. In a heartfelt statement accompanying the album art reveal, she shared:
“This album has been over five years in the making. It was born out of an experience where I didn’t feel welcomed… and it was very clear that I wasn’t. But that experience led me to delve deeper into the history of Country music and explore our rich musical archive. It’s gratifying to see how music can bring people together worldwide, while also highlighting the voices of those who have dedicated their lives to educating us on our musical heritage.
The criticisms I faced when I entered this genre pushed me to transcend the limitations imposed on me. Act II is the result of challenging myself and taking the time to blend genres together to create this body of work.
I have a few surprises on the album and have collaborated with some brilliant artists whom I deeply respect. I hope you can hear my heart and soul, and feel the love and passion I poured into every detail and every sound.”
