At Samsung Unpacked 2026, Samsung introduced the Galaxy S26 series alongside the new Galaxy Buds4 lineup, signaling a major push toward a more intelligent, design-forward ecosystem. Headlining the announcement is the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which features what Samsung describes as the mobile industry’s first fully integrated Privacy Display.
A Hardware-Level Privacy Breakthrough
The Galaxy S26 Ultra’s Privacy Display is built directly into the screen, eliminating the need for external privacy filters. Using pixel-level light dispersion control, the display obscures on-screen content from side angles while maintaining full clarity for the user viewing head-on. The feature is designed for crowded public environments such as trains, flights and cafés, where screen visibility can compromise privacy.
Unlike stick-on privacy films that reduce brightness and sharpness, Samsung’s integrated solution preserves the device’s premium display quality.
Performance Built for Agentic AI
The Galaxy S26 lineup — consisting of the S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra — runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy. Samsung reports up to a 39% improvement in NPU performance, optimized specifically for background AI processing and proactive assistant features.
The S26 Ultra also introduces:
- A redesigned, larger Vapor Chamber for improved cooling during intensive workloads
- Wider camera apertures delivering up to 47% more light to the 200MP primary sensor
- “Photo Assist,” an AI editing tool that responds to natural-language prompts (e.g., transforming a daytime image into a nighttime scene)
- Support for APV, a professional-grade video codec engineered for high-quality, visually lossless workflows
The Ultra model is also described as Samsung’s slimmest “Ultra” device to date, maintaining flagship power within a refined silhouette.
Unified Design Language
Samsung is streamlining aesthetics across the S26 series with shared colorways: Cobalt Violet, White, Black and Sky Blue. Exclusive finishes such as Pink Gold and Silver Shadow are available through Samsung’s online store.
Galaxy Buds4 Series Launches Alongside
Joining the smartphones is the Galaxy Buds4 series, led by the Buds4 Pro. The earbuds introduce a new “blade” design with metal finishes and engraved pinch controls.
Key upgrades include:
- A wider woofer increasing effective speaker area by nearly 20%
- 24-bit/96kHz high-fidelity audio support
- Enhanced active noise cancellation
- Adaptive EQ tuning
- New “Head Gesture” controls for hands-free calls and AI interaction
The Buds4 Pro are available in White and Black, with a Pink Gold version offered exclusively online.
Availability
Both the Galaxy S26 series and Galaxy Buds4 series are available for pre-order now, with general release scheduled for March 11, 2026.
With its built-in Privacy Display and expanded AI capabilities, Samsung’s latest flagship release positions privacy, intelligence and design as core pillars of the 2026 smartphone experience.
