At Monterey Car Week, RUF made waves by debuting the Tribute—a modern-day supercar engineered around a brand-new, in-house-developed air-cooled flat-six. It’s a bold fusion of nostalgia and innovation, celebrating the company’s six-decade legacy with the Porsche 911 platform.
At the heart of the Tribute is a 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, developed entirely by RUF. The unit features cutting-edge four-cam architecture, variable cam timing, variable valve lift, and three-valve cylinder heads—marrying old-school air-cooled charm with modern performance engineering. The result? A potent 550 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, sent to the rear wheels via a precise seven-speed manual transmission.
The powertrain is nestled within a featherweight carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, a hallmark of RUF’s continued commitment to pushing the envelope in design and driving dynamics. With a redline at 6,750 rpm, the engine promises a visceral soundtrack and response that pays homage to the golden era of analog driving, while delivering contemporary levels of agility and control.
RUF described the new model as “a supercar unlike any other,” emphasizing the emotional connection that comes from hearing an air-cooled flat-six scream just behind the driver.
Unveiled alongside the 800-horsepower CTR3 EVO and the first customer-spec Rodeo, the Tribute underscores RUF’s unique role in keeping analog performance alive in a rapidly digitized world.
This isn’t just a car—it’s a love letter to the past, written in carbon fiber and turbo boost.
