Porsche has concluded its limited-run 911 Dakar series with a stunning one-off Sonderwunsch edition, designed specifically for an Italian sports car collector. Unveiled at the Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen, this bespoke vehicle combines Porsche’s legendary performance with a bold tribute to rally racing heritage.
Building on the 2,500 production models of the 911 Dakar, this Sonderwunsch edition enhances the off-road-ready spirit of the iconic sports car. Designed to conquer both rugged trails and smooth tarmac, the 911 Dakar features a 50mm height increase over the standard Carrera, along with off-road-ready features such as reinforced aluminum recovery eyelets and wide wheel arches. Powered by a 3.0L twin-turbo six-cylinder engine, the Dakar delivers over 470 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque, with a signature boxer engine sound that captures the spirit of adventure.
The Sonderwunsch 911 Dakar stands out with its striking three-tone paint scheme, a nod to Porsche’s Rallye Design Package and the 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally. The car is adorned in vibrant Signal Yellow, Gentian Blue Metallic, and a bespoke Lampedusa Blue shade developed in collaboration with the collector. These colors extend to the painted alloy wheel spokes and rim edges, and even the LED Matrix headlights are customized with a distinctive blue accent ring.
Inside, the exclusive detailing continues with Speed Yellow stitching and accents against a sleek black interior. The headrests are embroidered with the “911 Dakar” logo, and the gear selector features a leather insert in Speed Yellow. To add a touch of flair, LED projectors shine the Sonderwunsch logo onto the ground as the doors open, further emphasizing the vehicle’s unique design.
Before making its way to its new owner, this Sonderwunsch 911 Dakar will be displayed at the Porsche Museum, giving enthusiasts a final opportunity to admire this bespoke tribute to Porsche’s off-road legacy.
