After facing challenges this year, including disappointing sales and the resignation of CEO John Donahoe, Nike is shifting gears under the leadership of newly-appointed CEO Elliott Hill. One of the brand’s strategies to regain momentum includes the introduction of a new budget-friendly model, the Nike V5 RNR.
Priced at an affordable $90 USD, the V5 RNR addresses consumer concerns about pricing while tapping into the recent surge of interest in ’00s-inspired running shoes. Competing with brands like ASICS and New Balance, the V5 RNR channels a retro aesthetic with a modern twist. The initial color offerings include two white and silver designs, accented with green and gold hues, respectively. The sneaker’s layered construction, combining mesh and synthetic materials, takes cues from how its competitors craft their runners. Additionally, the collection will feature an all-black version for a sleek, minimalist look.

Although Nike has yet to officially announce the V5 RNR’s release, it is expected to hit stores in early 2025. The sneaker will be available through Nike’s website and select retailers, with each pair priced at $90 USD. Stay tuned for more updates, including additional colorways and release details.
