Lea Michele brought star power and timeless elegance to the red carpet at the 78th Annual Tony Awards, held at New York’s iconic Radio City Music Hall.
The Glee alum—and Broadway powerhouse—turned heads in a striking black tuxedo-style gown by Michael Kors. The sophisticated ensemble blended classic menswear elements with high fashion femininity, featuring a halter neckline framed by satin lapels, a sharply tailored bodice reminiscent of a blazer, and chic side pockets. The structured top gave way to a soft chiffon skirt with a dramatic thigh-high slit, adding movement and allure to the sleek silhouette.
Michele completed the look with black pointed-toe pumps and delicate diamond hoop earrings, keeping her accessories understated and elegant to let the dress shine.
Though she’s not a nominee this year, Michele is no stranger to the Tony Awards spotlight. Fans will remember her powerful performance of “Don’t Rain on My Parade” at the 2023 ceremony, reprising her role as Fanny Brice from the Funny Girl revival. In past years, she’s also shared many red carpet moments with longtime friend and fellow Broadway star Jonathan Groff.
Groff, however, is taking center stage this time. Nominated for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical, he’s being recognized for his portrayal of the legendary Bobby Darin in Just In Time, which opened at Circle in the Square Theatre on April 23 and will run through January 25, 2026.
The category is stacked with talent this season, with Groff competing against Darren Criss (Maybe Happy Ending), Andrew Durand (Dead Outlaw), Tom Francis (Sunset Blvd.), James Monroe Iglehart (A Wonderful World: The Louis Armstrong Musical), and Jeremy Jordan (Floyd Collins). Groff is riding high after his Tony win last year for Merrily We Roll Along, and expectations are high once again.
While the spotlight may not be on Michele this year, her presence—and her impeccable fashion—once again proved she’s a red carpet mainstay.
