Jimmy Kimmel sheds light on a beloved post-award show tradition among celebrities in Los Angeles, particularly on Oscars night.
As he gears up to host the Academy Awards for the fourth time on March 10, Kimmel shared with People magazine, “The award show tradition is In-N-Out after the show.”
According to Kimmel, the allure of In-N-Out stems from its iconic status as a must-visit spot in L.A., especially for those in town for the Oscars. “When people are in L.A., one of the things on their list is to go to In-N-Out — and there are a lot of people that are in L.A. just for the Oscars — so they wind up going like, ‘Okay,'” he explained. “Also, you get very hungry, so In-N-Out is definitely the award show tradition.”
Recent sightings at In-N-Out include Paul Giamatti, who celebrated his Golden Globe win for best male actor in The Holdovers with a meal at the Westwood location alongside his girlfriend and representatives.
Originating in Baldwin Park in 1948, In-N-Out Burger has grown into a beloved fast-food chain primarily found across California.
The post-awards show In-N-Out trend was even highlighted in an Oscars promo video last month, featuring Ryan Gosling jokingly mistaking it as a pre-Oscars ritual. Kimmel corrected him, clarifying that the tradition is to indulge in In-N-Out after winning an Oscar. Gosling humorously tossed away his food, only to be informed of a directorial snub, prompting a comedic reaction.
As Hollywood’s stars prepare for the glitz and glamour of the Oscars, one thing is certain: the allure of In-N-Out remains a cherished tradition.
