Anne Heche was hospitalized after her car crashed into a Los Angeles apartment on Friday, setting fire to both the home and the vehicle, CNN reported. The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed in a public report that a lone driver’s car crashed into a two-story home in L.’s Mar Vista neighborhood, resulting in “structural compromise and a violent blaze.” The woman was rescued from the car and taken to a local hospital in critical condition; Firefighters put out the fire in about an hour.CNN, citing an unidentified source, confirmed that Heche was the driver. The Los Angeles Police Department told the outlet that the car went off the road and hit the house after traveling at high speeds, and the driver suffered burns.

A representative for Heche did not immediately respond to request for comment. The 53-year-old actress won a Daytime Emmy Award early in her career for her work on the soap opera Another World.
