Also known as 1Penemy, he has risen to the top as a dentist and surgeon as well as a street graffiti artist.
There are some individuals who realize what they wish to become from a very early age in life, while some others go with the flow and, through their respective journeys, realize their true purpose in life. In both categories, individuals need to resiliently move forward and make the most of the opportunities to reach nearer their goals and visions in life. Dr Nicholas Toscano did the same and hence, today, is known as a sought-after dentist and surgeon. However, this passionate man is also rising high as a street graffiti artist, which has attracted more people’s attention towards the incredible career he has created for himself.
Who is Dr Nicholas Toscano, you ask?
Well, first of all, he is a board-certified periodontist who did his B.S. in Biology from the University of Scranton in Scranton, PA. Later, he achieved his D.D.S. from Columbia University School of Dental Medicine in New York, NY. Dr Nicholas Toscano even worked with the US. Navy for 13 long years and completed his General Practice Residency at the prestigious National Naval Medical Center (“The President’s Hospital”) in Bethesda, MD. Since years, he has been an award-winning dentist and surgeon who has contributed heavily to the dental niche across the US.
Being an NYC celebrity dental surgeon and former US Naval Dental officer made him remain in the news constantly. He currently is the official dentist for nearly 25 modelling agencies across NYC and LA, including Fusion, One, the Lions, Wilhelmina, Storm, Heroes, and many others. His extensive list of patients includes some of the most prominent names in the modelling world like Jasmine Tookes, Josephine Skriver, Victoria’s Secret models, Helena Christensen, Candice Swanepoel, and Romee Strijd. However, he just isn’t famous for giving his clients million-dollar smiles, but now has also emerged as a street artist with the artist name “1Penemy”. Working closely with 100s of artists in LA, NYC, and Miami, apart from the famous models he treats, it was natural for him to get influenced towards the world of art.
His art as a street artist stands different because it mostly consists of figures centred around models, also because his dental practice involved treating several top models. His work involves a mugshot lineup of 90s supermodels like Stephanie Seymour, Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss, Brooke Shields. It is all about embracing the spirit of women’s struggles by featuring them in the mugshot and displaying them in a lineup, as well as wheat pasting them like “wanted” posters on graffiti walls and back alleys.
Dr Nicholas Toscano also does charity with his art, benefiting causes like children’s hospitals and save art programs in N.Y.C. To know more, follow him on Instagram @drtoscanodds or @1penemy.
