This philosophy, she says, came to life in a deeply moving way during a recent outreach weekend in Apopka, Florida. It turned out to be a weekend that changed lives as they partnered with JFC For You, Inc., where they reached people who had been living in wooded encampments. It reached out to women and men experiencing homelessness, isolation, and years of being overlooked. However, the partnership paved the way for greater change, with warm meals shared, safe hotel accommodations arranged, and essential supplies distributed.
Another distinguishing element of the outreach was a series of life-changing makeovers. Dr. Shellie Hipsky’s Glam Squad and media team ensured that eight individuals received full transformations, complete with styled hair, elegant gowns from House of Couture Designs, and heartfelt encouragement. A short video capturing these transformations also went viral, amassing over 6 million views and resonating with audiences globally. Dr. Shellie Hipsky and her team are now developing a short film exploring this transformative project, along with ongoing initiatives that support women and children from Pittsburgh to Africa.
The outreach weekend concluded with a unique gala supporting JFC For You, Inc., led by Global Sister Camille Robb, whose organization feeds over 300 people in need multiple times every week. Funds were also raised for providing hygiene supplies, clothing, tents, generators, bicycles, and other essential resources for those experiencing homelessness. Dr. Shellie Hipsky lives by a simple yet profound belief that when people feel seen, supported and valued, they begin to rise again.
