A well-known doughnut chain in the 1950s and 1960s was called Spudnuts.

Because potato flour was included in the dough, spudnuts got their name.

Spudnuts were renowned for their distinct flavor and texture.

In the 1960s, Spudnuts had over 500 locations at its height.

Due to competition and poor management, the chain started to deteriorate in the 1970s.

There are currently very few Spudnuts restaurants in the United States.
