In Mumbai, India, there is now a       Nita M. Ambani Center for             the Performing Arts.

The center is named for Mukesh Ambani's wife, the philanthropist and businesswoman Nita Ambani.

Celebrities from Bollywood,    including Shah Rukh Khan, and       Hollywood, including Zendaya      and Tom Holland, officially              opened the center.

Over a ten-year period, the center       was constructed for about                   $100 million.

It has a theater with 2,000 seats,      an amphitheater, and several                practice areas.

The center wants to encourage and         promote performing arts                around the world.

Musicians and dancers from the classical Indian dance style performed at the inaugural event.

Chairman of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani referred to the center as a gift to the people of India and the city of Mumbai.

Several events, including an  appearance by opera artist Andrea  Bocelli, have already taken place                  at the center.

Nita Ambani has been involved in a number of charitable and cultural endeavors, such as the founding of a museum devoted to Indian art and a program to aid rural artisans.
