Prisoners revolt in Sri Lankan jail amid the coronavirus surge:

At least 8 human beings were killed and fifty two injured after a jail rebellion in Sri Lanka which noticed guards conflict with inmates, officers have stated. The inmates had released protests amid a surge of coronavirus infections withinside the prisons, traumatic early launch on bail and higher centers.

More than one thousand coronavirus cases have been registered across the jails in Sri Lanka:

Police spokesman Ajith Rohana stated guards had “used pressure to manipulate an unruly situation” withinside the Mahara jail. Coronavirus infections surge in Sri Lanka with a tally at 23,484 cases:

Two coronavirus clusters – one at a garment manufacturing unit and another at a fish market, have led to a surge of COVID infections in Sri Lanka. As per Johns Hopkins University, there are actually 23,484 instances in Sri Lanka with 116 deaths mentioned.
